2014 Land Rover Range Rover Long-Wheelbase (LWB) Preview: 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show

The 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Long Wheelbase (LWB) was launched at the LA Auto Show this year as the crowning jewel of the Range Rover line-up. The Range Rover was showered with praise for its redesign back in 2013 for being lighter, more fuel efficient and updated, just after Land Rover was bought by Indian carmaker, Tata. Since then, sales of the SUV are up by 39% this year and Land Rover has since added a V-6 option, a popular Sport version and recently announced the inclusion of a hybrid in its near future.

Now, both the long wheelbase and its uber-luxurious Autobiography version arrive on the scene to accommodate the luxury buyer who can afford to sit comfortably in the back seat with outstretched legs while someone else drives them to the office or country club. To get a better idea of what kind of money we're talking about, the regular Range Rover LWB starts at $106,000 and the super-lux Autobiography Black is a whopping $185,000.

The Long Wheelbase models will compete with other recently-announced luxury SUVs coming from Bentley, Lamborghini and Maserati and only 100 Autobiography Black units will be sold in the USA.
