A “monster truck” spun out of control and mowed down spectators at an event in northern Mexico, killing at least eight people, including four children, officials said.

Video of the incident at the Extremo Aeroshow in Chihuahua, Mexico, shows a massive red truck running over an obstacle on a dirt course and then swerving into the crowd as audience members scream.

The driver told authorities he passed out after hitting his head, a state prosecutor’s spokesman said.

State Gov. Cesar Duarte told reporters Sunday that it was possible the truck’s driver drank alcohol before Saturday’s deadly crash.

Blood tests were conducted and prosecutors will determine who was responsible, Duarte said.

The crash injured dozens of people, Duarte said. On Sunday, 28 of them remained hospitalized — 12 of whom were in critical condition.

The city’s mayor, Marco Quezada Martinez, told the state-run Notimex news agency that he has ordered an investigation.

CNN has not been able to reach a lawyer representing the truck’s driver.

Officials said the Extremo Aeroshow was suspended after the incident.

According to the event’s website, the show included aerobatics, skydiving, hot air ballooning, motorcycles, fireworks and monster trucks.

SAAVEDRA, Neil: KKLA, 1990-92; KFI, 1996-2023. Neil is the marketing director at KFI and is "Jesus" on KFI's Sunday morning. He also hosts "The Fork Report."

Born into a large family of seven kids and raised in Southern California, Neil started his career in radio in January of 1990. Armed with a desire to defend truth and his varied studies of logic, theology, philosophy and religion Neil embarked on his first radio show. Answers with Shield of Faith, a one-hour question and answer program, teamed Neil up with partner Bobby Lownsdale on Ventura’s premiere Christian radio station, KDAR 98.3/fm. Throughout the early 90’s, Neil continued to answer people’s tough questions dealing with God and religion. In addition to bringing Answers with Shield of Faith to other Christian stations in the south land like KKLA 99.5/fm and KBRT 740 AM, Neil was a frequent guest on several other radio programs.

Neil came to America’s most listened to news talk radio station, KFI AM 640, in March 1994 as an intern and has never been happier. In addition to producing the radio show, Neil occasionally lectures and teaches at various churches and schools on everything from live Q & A to logic and religious philosophy. Neil calls himself a “self taught lay apologist,” not because he hasn’t been taught anything from wonderful teachers (he has) but, because although he has warmed the seats of many a classroom he currently holds no degrees (and he hates when people try and sound more educated than they actually are). (Neil's bio is from his website)

  • Seacrest Goes Ballroom Dancing

(May 15, 2014) Ryan Seacrest is everywhere you turn. He’s making millions hosting American Idol and being the face of KIIS/fm and iHeart Radio. Ryan’s also the man ringing in the New Year for ABC.  So it’s a bit curious that his latest venture is a 6-part series that will air on A&E's website as well as Hulu on a somewhat obscure subject in entertainment and leisure.

Ryan’s new show is called Montecito and was recently featured on the front-page of the Life section of the Santa Barbara News-Press. The show follows amateur ballroom dancers, as they work with their professional dance instructors to prepare for competitions around the country.

One of the dancers explained why the docu-drama is in Montecito. “The area is as much of a character as any of the cast members. Filming was done at a local dance studio, in private homes in restaurants and other locations around Santa Barbara and Montecito. It weaves our personal lives in with the dancing.”

Kerdoon Busy. KNX’s Randy Kerdoon will be replacing the late Lee Marshall as the MC for the ARCS Charity Car show in Camarillo on August 2nd. “As you know I'm a big car classic car guy and won an IAMA award in 2011 doing automotive reporting (on the side) at KNX 1070,” emailed Randy. KGIL Reunion. Were you part of the glory years of 1260 AM KGIL? There will be a reunion on Saturday June 7th, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. in Sherman Oaks.  “I am the point of contact if any KGIL Alums would like to attend and get details,” emailed Tom Patterson.  There are 36 already confirmed. To RSVP or get more information, contact: Tom.Patterson@cbs.com.
