Hamid entezam biography of william shakespeare

Beginning with an introduction by Hamid Samandarian, the book features the complete text of Entezami’s thesis “Iranian Pish-Pardeh Khani” (Traditional Narration of Epic Tales), Entezami’s biography, his theatrical works, and his memoirs in chapters titled “Coup d'état of August 18”, “Qasr Prison”, “Abd ul-Hossein Nushin”, and “Curtain Raiser Reading” as well as Lalezar Theaters”.

 

Published by Afzar Publications, the book will be released in the near future.

 

“Magic of the Stage” is the second book on Entezami’s life and work, the first book was “Mr. Actor”.

 

Born in Tehran in 1924, Entezami entered into the theatre in high school.

 

In 1954, he went to Germany and studied at a cinema and theater school. After graduation, he returned to Iran at which time he played with Mustafa Osku’i in “Much Ado About Nothing” by William Shakespeare, and “The Doll’s House” by Henrik Ibsen.

 

Until the beginning of his career in the cinema, he worked on more than 400 TV series as an actor and director. He also taught at the Art University of Alzahra.

 

“Haji Washington” (1981), “Kamal ul-Mulk” (1983), and “Suitcase”, “Angelica Ship” as well as “In the Wind’s Eye” all in 1988, “The School We Attended” (1990) and “Angel’s Day” (1993) “Storm” (1996) are among the feature films in which Entezami appeared.
