Early Life
Shonda Rhimes was born on January 13, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois, United States to parents; Vera Rhimes, a college professor, and Ilee Rhimes, a university administrator. She is the youngest child in a family of six children.
She resided in Park Forest South with her five siblings, two older brothers, and three older sisters.
She went to Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois for her high school education. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in English and Film studies from Dartmouth College.
