Fernando Chien (bornOctober 6, 1974; age 50) is a stuntman and actor who portrayed Zhou's henchman 3 in Season 6 of 24.
Biography and career[]
Fernando Chien was born in Taipei, Taiwan under the name Chien Fu-Nan. When he moved to Canada, he adopted the name of Fernando.
After moving to Canada, Chien developed an interest in acting, and performed in musical theater productions in college. Although he had practiced Tae Kwon Do and Karate when he was 6 years old, it wasn't until his 20s that he started practicing martial arts more seriously, studying Hung-Gar Kung Fu in Montreal, Quebec.
In 2002, Chien moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and TV. He was also introduced to Wushu, and then Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. Chien studied under Gokor Chivichyan and Sensei Gene LeBell at the Hayastan MMA Academy. He currently practices at the Werdum Combat Team under Master Fabricio Werdum and Andrew Hagar.
After moving to Los Angeles, Chien moved between acting and stunt performing. He became part of the action team Reel Kick, which features some of the most sought after stunt performers. Chien also studied acting at Michael Beach's Actors Gym and Lee Strasberg Studio, among others.
During his career, Chien has worked in films like Crank, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Red Dawn (with Kenneth Choi), Fast Five (with Joaquim de Almeida, Yorgo Constantine and Michael Irby), and Iron Man 3 (with James Badge Dale). He has also worked on TV shows like NCIS: Los Angeles (with Tzi Ma and Elaine Kao), The Guild, and Star Trek: Enterprise (with John Billingsley and Connor Trinneer). In 2016, he had a recurring role on TNT's The Last Ship (with Maximiliano Hernandez).

Estudió el Hung-Gar Kung Fu en Montreal, Quebec. También practica Wushu, Jiu-Jitsu y Muay Thai.

En el 2008 se unió al elenco recurrente de la serie The Guild donde interpretó a Wade Wei, el vecino de Cyd "Codex" Sherman hasta el 2009.
En el 2009 interpretó a Lin en el episodio "Vine" de la serie norteamericana Melrose Place.
En el 2010 apareció como invitado en la serie NCIS: Los Angeles donde interpretó a Bobby Tang, un miembro de una banda asiática conocida como los "Hiragana" durante el episodio "Chinatown", Bobby es asesinado de un disparo por la espía del gobierno Chino, Xue-Li (Elaine Kao).
En el 2011 apareció como invitado en la serie True Justice donde interpretó a un matón y miembro de los Yakuza.
En el 2013 obtuvo un pequeño papel en un episodio de la serie Ray Donovan donde interpretó a un boxeador de peso ligero durante el episodio "Fite Nite".
En el 2016 se unió al elenco recurrente de la tercera temporada de la serie The Last Ship donde interpretó al corrupto Peng Wu, el Presidente de China y exministro de Seguridad del Estado Chino, hasta el undécimo episodio de la temporada después de que su personaje muriera después de que Takehaya (Hiroyuki Sanada) lo acuchillara con una espada durante un enfrentamiento.
